“Being a YKC member is one of the best choices I have ever made. I have been a member since I was 7 years old and now I am very sad to be in my final year at 24 years. I have made friends, trained other members, and competed in specialist competitions for YKC members only, which holds the highest standard.
I have been taught so many different things with my dog, but also social skills as well! Being a YKC member also exposes you to many different activity days for all ages - you don't want to miss out!”

“I have always loved dogs, and have had Miniature Schnauzers since I was a baby. I received my first award at the Schnauzer Club of Great Britain, and we then went on to win Best in Show. I am a YKC Ambassador (shortlisted for the Young Person Award)- an award I wear with Pride.
I love all breeds, and I am not afraid to handle any breed. I love helping my peers in the YKC Junior Handling, especially encouraging the youngsters, as I wish I had started this fabulous hobby earlier in my life.”

“The YKC has allowed me to become involved in the dog world in a way I never could have on my own. Being from a non-show background, I didn't have anybody to teach me the ins and outs of dog training and competing, but the YKC is always friendly and available to help answer questions, and offer guidance. The dog training weekends have taught me to become more competent in almost all aspects of dog training, grooming and handling, whilst socialising with other like-minded people, of my age group, has boosted my confidence enormously and allowed me to make many good friends.
This year, because of the major part the YKC has played in my life, my dogs and I will be competing at Crufts for the sixth year in a row (which I would never have thought possible when I was younger). I have worked with rescue dogs in Thailand, and I am studying Animal Management BSc, with the hope of becoming a canine behaviourist in the near future. I would (and do) recommend this organisation to every young dog lover, it provides access to the most amazing events and opportunities.”
