Thank you for agreeing to host a YKC Handling Qualifier, all the information you will need to run and host the event can be seen below. If you do have any questions, please contact the YKC via email on YKC@thekennelclub.org.uk
When Scheduling YKC Classes, please be considerate to both the YKC members, and other competitors. It is best to try and schedule classes so that they are judged at a different time from the majority of breed classes. Either hosting YKC Handling classes at the end of the day, or starting them before breed judging commences would be ideal.
If there are scheduling clashes, we would ask that all judges should be considerate to YKC member's entries and if delaying judging in one class by 5 minutes would allow for a member to compete in their breed class and the YKC class, we would hope that any judge would be willing to wait.
When choosing judges for YKC Handling classes, please select someone who is passionate about judging handling. We often hear reports of judges who judge the class as if it were a breed class, which completely misses the point of the class. To aid shows in their judge selection, please click the button below to find a list of judges that have put themselves forward to judge YKC and JHA competitions. This list is not exhaustive, and if you have someone other than those listed in mind, please feel free to select your own judge, but please make sure they understand what it is that they are judging.
All judges should be made aware of the YKC Judging Criteria before accepting their appointment. The document can be downloaded following the button below.
