Dog grooming

Timing

YKC grooming competitors should be allowed up to two hours to perform their dog grooming. Within which time, any mess created by the dog grooming should also be cleared away by the competitor.

Judges and judging

When choosing judges for YKC dog grooming classes, there is no official Kennel Club process in determining who is able to judge, however, we would ask the organiser to select someone who routinely grooms a variety of dog breeds.

There are no specific cuts that competitors are required to do, we would expect what ever cut the competitor chooses, should be considerate to the breed (i.e. do not completely shave off all of an Old English Sheepdogs fur).

The Kennel Club is against using dye on a dog's coat, therefore any competitor caught using dye will be eliminated from the competition.

Rules
