YKC Handling Training Days

Birmingham National Dog Show - Staffordshire

During Saturday and Sunday of the Birmingham National Dog show held at the Staffordshire showground, the YKC will be hosting two training days for young handlers to improve existing skills, or to try handling for the first time. 

Event Information

The Handling training days will take place during on Saturday 11th May and Sunday 12th May 2019 and are open to all members aged 6-24 years.

Training for one full day will cost £20 per member

There are spaces for:

  • 20 members to attend on Saturday
  • 20 members to attend on Sunday

The training on offer on each day will be identical – there is no need attend both days unless you specifically wish to cover the same topics twice – perhaps with a different dog.

This is a training event and will take place in the pavilion on the showground which is indoors with a carpet floor. Please make sure you’re comfortable and wear appropriate footwear. You will not be required to wear “show suits” although if you are exhibiting at the show you are welcome to attend the training session in formal wear. Also please note that lunch is not provided, please bring food and drinks with you to this event.

If the member is under 18 years of age then one accompanying parent/guardian must also attend at no charge.  Dogs MUST be 6 months of age or over to attend a handling training day.

Trainer

Charlotte Page has been showing dogs for the past 12 years. In this time she has won The UK Junior Handler of The Year title, represented the United Kingdom in the International Junior Handling competition. Charlotte has also had great success in YKC stakes competitions including YKC Stakes Overall winner 2016 and 2017. Charlotte made up four champions, her first by the age of 13.
