For over ten years YKC members have been drawing and painting their way to take part in the YKC Artist of the Year Competition! This year we want YKC members to design a poster to promote the Brand New YKC Crossbreed Competition! Entries open in September so it is time to get drawing and you could be in with a chance to win some great prizes!
This year the YKC is launching its very own YKC Crossbreed Competition which will showcase YKC Members Crossbreed Dogs in the YKC Ring at Crufts 2019. It’s now your chance to help promote our new competition by designing an eye catching poster.
In this theme the crossbreed dog/s should be the main subject in your design. A crossbreed is a dog whose parents are of two different breeds, or a mixture of several breeds. Your poster can show part of the dog such as just the head or the entire body of the dog standing, sitting or lying down. Your picture can also show more than one crossbreed dog, in a group picture.
Your design entry will need to be A4 in size and the layout must be portrait. A range of materials can be used, including drawing (e.g. pencil, pen) painting, printmaking. You do not need to add titles or wording to your design.
Entries should be A4 POTRAIT only.
To include, on the back of the artwork:
Entrants should send their artwork to Young Kennel Club, The Kennel Club, Clarges Street, Piccadilly, London, W1J 8AB.
A panel of judges will select the best entry in each age category (06-11, 12-17 & 18-24). Once the best in each age category has been decided, the judges will then rank those three artworks and award them 1st, 2nd and 3rd. The judges will award these places based on the artist's vision and creative ideas, not just on neatness and finesse.
The winners of 1st, 2nd and 3rd will receive the following prizes:
