The YKC offer lots of ways for young artists to practice and enter competitions. We hold one main competition a year, the winner of which will receive prizes and be showcased at the YKC ring at Crufts.
We also have smaller competitions to keep members drawing/painting/watercolouring throughout the year, these include designing the artwork for the front cover of our magazine 'Fetch', designing flyers for dog campaigns and many more!
Are you a creative type? Read on to find out which competition is running at the moment. Make sure you take a good read of the brief, as each of our competitions have a different theme. If your work is amazing but doesn't fit the brief, it won't be chosen as the winner, even if it looks the best!
Once you have finished your artwork, send it off the the YKC offices. Remember to put your name and address on the back so we can return it to you. Also, when you send it in, make sure you send it in the correct size envelope (don't fold your art!!!) and also try and put a thick piece of cardboard in the envelope with it, so it doesn't bend in the post. (Something like a piece of an "Amazon" box works well.)
The YKC also invites members to design the front cover of 'Fetch', our magazine for members. Each edition has a theme, so we ask members to come up with designs for each edition.
