Dog agility is an action–packed and hugely exciting sport for you and your dog. It involves loads of obstacles for your dog (not you!) to run through, jump over, and weave in and out of – and all against the clock! Not only does Agility test your dog’s fitness, you can also show off your skills as a handler, directing your dog around the agility course. If you have already been competing this year, you can click on the compete button below to see the year's YKC show results!

The YKC offer lots of different competitions in agility for members to compete in at our ring at Crufts. Some of the classes have qualifiers whereas others require members to gain points an standard Kennel Club licensced shows. The whole point of the YKC classes is to allow certain age ranges to compete against on another (6-11 ; 12-17 ; 18-24), which should level the playing field, as well as allowing members to make friends their own age.
Agility dog of the year is for members between the ages of 6-17 years and their dogs. Members compete in their own divisions for under and over 12 years, small, medium and large dogs and try to complete an agility course in the fastest time at a Young Kennel Club qualifying class.
The courses in this competition do not contain an “A” ramp, seesaw or dog walk. Open to members between the ages of 6-17 years and their dogs. Members compete in their own age divisions for under 12 and 12 years and over, and also only against their dog height: small, medium and large.
Create your own team consisting of 5 handlers to take turns in completing an agility course. The best 4 team members scores are added together, team with the lowest combined faults with the fastest combined time wins! This is a qualifier competition for our final in the YKC ring at Crufts.
If you have a small, medium or large dog, you can send in your agility record book points (available from the online shop) to try and qualify for the different finals at Crufts. All record books must be sent in before 1st December each year along with the below application form.
