Please note that the Kennel Club will not be able to provide the Outward Bound initiative in 2009 – we are hopeful that this fantastic programme will be offered to our members again soon.
Outward Bound Development Courses are a fantastic opportunity for Young Kennel Club members aged 16-24 years to develop invaluable life skills as well as forging lifelong friendships with like minded canine enthusiasts. The five day course is packed full with a variety of challenging mental and physical activities, which are specifically designed to help young people develop self esteem, self confidence and provide an overwhelming sense of achievement. By encouraging members to complete the course the Young Kennel Club in turn can utilise the skills which they have learnt and transfer these skills at events such as Crufts, National Training Camp and Activity Weekends.
The course objectives in the past have aimed to achieve;
• Improved communication skills
• Advanced teamwork abilities
• Enhanced problem solving techniques
• Increased leadership potential
• Understanding of project management processes
