The Kennel Club is part of the Dangerous Dogs Act Study Group (DDASG), a wide-ranging group representing animal welfare, local authorities and veterinary professional organisations including Battersea Dogs Home, Blue Cross, British Veterinary Association, Dogs Trust, Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons etc.
We consider that the Dangerous Dogs Act needs to be overhauled to better protect the public and that a new dog control regime that emphasises responsible dog ownership should be introduced.
Please can you support our Dog Control Bill being put forward today by Lord Redesdale, which seeks to better protect the public, place greater responsibility on dog owners and remove the huge welfare implications affecting dogs deemed to be of a certain type by signing the following petition:

If you are up for a challenge then why not volunteer your skills and help out at the YKC events and activities. We are always looking for members with training and judging experience to pass on their knowledge to the younger members. Contact the YKC office or call 020 7518 1030 to register your services.
If you have always wanted to go behind the scenes at shows, we actively promote development within the canine world to ensure that our members are ready to take the lead in the future. Get involved with stewarding and judge's programmes and play your part in continuing the world of dogs.
If you have a thirst for knowledge, our workshops and courses give members the chance to polish their skills in a variety or areas ranging from commentating to hands on assessments.
