Breed Showing, Grooming & Obedience
Just over a year
I bought an American Cocker Spaniel puppy (Jasper) in 2009 which is a
breed I have never owned before, as my previous dogs have always been Cavalier King Charles Spaniels so now I own a fifteen month American Cocker & an eight year old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel called Tia who is now retired
The spaniels
Qualifying for YKC Groomer of the Year 2008, at Newark Activity Weekend 07, & for 2012, at Manchester Dog Show 11. Also, gaining the puppy Good Citizen Dog Scheme award with Jasper & Bronze with a previous dog
THAT YOU WOULD LIKE TO ADD?As I had never had an American Cocker before, I had to learn how to clip & maintain his coat, as every month went by, his coat was getting longer & longer!
Luckily one of the breeders showed me the basics which was a god send, but it took me a long time to get my technique right. After many hours of practising, my trimming & clipping ability is getting better.
Crufts 2012 will be my focus throughout the year as preparation is continuous for the American Cocker coat to keep it in good condition, I am also looking forward to going to Crufts as a visitor especially as I need to stock up on grooming products
