Junior Handling & Showing in Breed Classes
I have been a member for one year
I own two dogs: a German Shepherd Dog called Kito & a
Schipperke called Fina
I have just shown the two breeds I own aswell as handling someone elses German Shepherd Dog
That they are all different, some can be cute, some with lots of fur & others with none at all but they all love you no matter what.
Well, to be honest it's just doing all the dog shows & taking part!
You learn something new everyday about your dog & in the Young Kennel Club you learn something new about handling everyday.
When you're in the ring, watch others & focus on you & your dog. The most important thing is to be happy even if you didn't win because you're only just starting out! Don't expect to win all the time - just have fun!
My favourite memory was when I had to run from ring to ring into different breed classes & try and do my handling at the same time.
YOUR FAMILY LIFE?My mum has grown up with dogs but I never had one but got interested in them after watching Crufts, I wanted to try handling so I got a dog & started to train & it has changed my life. I couldn't live without my dogs now.
I am very lucky to live near a large park so I love to take them there.
I have realised that it's not about winning, it's about having fun. I wish everyone the best of luck when showing & handling & remember it's fun to meet new friends.
