Amongst those competing at the Kennel Club International Agility Festival this year were over a hundred Young Kennel Club handlers and their dogs hoping to gain a place in the YKC Jumping Final at dfs Crufts 2011. Each handler had gained their place in the competition by gaining a clear round during the year in any jumping class held at a Kennel Club licensed show. At the show, the competition is divided by the age of the member (Under 12 years of age and 12 years and over) and then the size of the dog that the handler is running (Small, Medium or Large).
(Please note that there must be at least six dogs entered into the subdivision in the heat. If there are less than six dogs, only the first place dog and handler will qualify).
Members are only permitted to handle one dog in the Final at dfs Crufts. If a handler has qualified more than one dog they will have to choose which dog to run. The next placed dog in the heat will be offered the place.
Congratulations to the competitors from each subdivision that qualify for dfs Crufts 2011 and click here to find out the results and times of the top six dog and handlers in each section.
