What we offer:Our staff, volunteers and trainers are dedicated to helping your child discover their independence, build their confidence and make new friends during their exhilarating, fun-packed holiday.
Daily training
Camp is about learning new skills as well as developing those that members already have, each member is required to try every canine discipline (providing their dog is capable of participating in the activity) at least once. Dogs under the age of SIX months are not permitted on site. Dogs under TWELVE months of age are not permitted to train in Agility or Flyball unless otherwise advised by the trainers and at the discretion of the organisers.
Trainers
Experienced trainers are on hand to coach members in Obedience, Agility, Flyball, Handling, Heelwork to Music and the Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog Scheme.
Social evenings
We’re constantly improving and adding to our evening entertainment programme, year after year you’ve given us your feedback and told us it’s awesome.
Team leaders
A whole host of senior YKC members act as team leaders at camp after they have taken part in a fantastic Outward Bound course which helps them to focus on team work and leadership skills. Camp is a great opportunity to put these skills into practice and the children taking part in camp benefit enormously from being mentored by older members of the club, who more often than not, once attended camp themselves.
Arrival and departure
If you are camping, you will be required to arrive on site between 12noon and 3.00pm on Saturday. (Due to health and safety requirements, arrival before this time is not permitted). Members who are staying off site will need to be on site at 5.00pm for the welcome briefing. Departure from the site is on Friday in the morning – we ask for everyone to be offsite by midday.
