Today was the English Shetland Sheepdog Show in Blewbury and it must have been the noisiest show I’ve ever been to! Shelties sure do live up to their reputation! I love this show as I get to be reunited with Jersey friends and other sheltie lovers! It was family friend Valery Johnston that started my love for shelties when I was a youngster. She had about 6 shelties and 1 rough collie when I was little and always promised that one day I’d have one of my own! She actually bought my first sheltie for me when I was 10 years old, Millie, and she turned 10 last month, how time flies!
Today I was only competing with Lucky which he absolutely loved as he was the centre of attention. He has always been a strong-willed dog from day one but I was pleased with him today! We came away with a 1st in Medium 3,4,5 Jumping, 2nd in the Medium Connection and a 5th in Medium Helter Skelter. The venue at Blewbury is great experience for Lucky as he really has to listen to me, he’s always completely different to what he’s like in training but I love competing with him. I’ve just got home and I am filthy, you don’t realise how dusty those places get! Off to have a nice hot bath and catch up with Desperate Housewives! Cheerio!
