Sunday 19th April - Wallingford

Wallingford Agility Show takes place at Newbury Showground – the coldest place on earth! Even when the sun is shining, the wind is bitter! I think I managed to get wind burn today!

Lucky and I had some quite tricky courses today but I like a challenge and something that I can get my teeth into! One of my classes was Medium 4-5 Jumping and Lucky went clear!! We were on a role this weekend, a friend videoed the run for me and has managed to upload it – take a look - http://www.onetruemedia.com/otm_site/view_shared?p=88bc7e65dc9d7a70a4db79 – it does say in the opening titles that we came 1st but we actually ended up 3rd.

Last run of the day was the Mid Downs team – I always get so nervous when competing in team events and I’d hate to be the handler/dog combination to let the rest of the team down. Todd hasn’t been himself recently so it was extremely nerve-racking!! In my team were Mike Wyatt and Chip, Katie Shapland and Pip, Todd and I & Don Nunn and Charlie Brown. Mike and Katie went clear, I was third to run, to my surprise Todd ran beautifully! Don and Charlie were last to run – 4 clears!! We ended up 2nd which we were all pleased with, unfortunately only 1st place qualified for the semi-final later on in the year! Gutted!

It was an extremely long weekend but I really enjoyed it, my boys achieved a 1st, 2nd and 3rd between them, I really couldn’t have asked for anymore! I’ve just realised that means cakes at training on Wednesday too!

I’ve got Blue’s first puppy lesson tomorrow night – will let you know how we get on!
