Vyne Show up at Newbury Showground

Today was the Vyne Show up at Newbury Showground, it felt odd having a show on a Monday - but I was really pleased with Todd at the show.

Lewes Show at Bentley Wildfowl

I always really enjoy Lewes Show as the weather is usually gorgeous and it’s about half an hour away from home. It’s such a laid back show and I also call it my lucky show as the old small dog I used to train (Barney) had a few wins at this show back in the day.

Blue’s First Puppy Agility Lesson

Blue went to his first puppy agility lesson and I was so pleased with him! Bearing in mind the only agility-linked training I’d done with him was lefts and rights and nose touches, I couldn’t believe how quickly he picked things up! He is in a class with his best friend Denby, (a sable Shetland Sheepdog owned by Amanda Rodgers) and 3 Jack Russell terriers who are complete beginners when it comes to agility

Sunday 19th April - Wallingford

Wallingford Agility Show takes place at Newbury Showground – the coldest place on earth! Even when the sun is shining, the wind is bitter! I think I managed to get wind burn today!

Lucky and I had some quite tricky courses today but I like a challenge and something that I can get my teeth into! One of my classes was Medium 4-5 Jumping and Lucky went clear!!

Saturday 18th April – Wallingford

I have had the best best day today! Lucky won out of Grade 5!! Woooo hoooo!!! I have got the biggest smile on my face!! I didn’t even walk the course as I was off running Todd in another ring.

Sunday 12th April – Easter Celebration

Well I had a really good day judging yesterday, wish I could say the same today. I was a lazy handler and all mistakes came down to my silly handling. Doh! Todd had some absolutely cracking rounds but when it came to the last 3-4 obstacles it all went to pot!

Saturday 11th April 2009 – Easter Celebration

Well no rest for the wicked! Today I was judging at the Easter Celebration Show at the South of England Showground in Ardingly and guess what…IT RAINED! Whenever I judge at that showground…it rains! I had some really good classes to judge today and was really looking forward to seeing the standard of dogs.

Sunday 5th April 2009 – ESSC Show

Today was the English Shetland Sheepdog Show in Blewbury and it must have been the noisiest show I’ve ever been to! Shelties sure do live up to their reputation! I love this show as I get to be reunited with Jersey friends and other sheltie lovers! It was family friend Valery Johnston that started my love for shelties when I was a youngster. She had about 6 shelties and 1 rough collie when I was little and always promised that one day I’d have one of my own! She actually bought my first sheltie for me when I was 10 years old, Millie, and she turned 10 last month, how time flies!

First show of the Agility Season – March 14th

Mid Downs is always my first show of the season and its always the most exciting. Although it’s nice to have free weekends in the winter, I just can’t wait to get back into it again come summer! My old boy, Barney, retired last season so I’m down to competing with just two this year, Todd (Border Collie) and Lucky (Shetland Sheepdog). Both boys ran really well, Lucky just picking up a few faults which were totally my fault, grrr! Seems I was still a bit rusty from the winter break! I was really chuffed with Toddster though, picking up two top 10 places and one elimination (my fault again!).

Day 4 - Sunday

So that’s it, Crufts is over for another year! Where did those 4 days go!
