How to get started

Where are the classes held?
Various clubs and societies kindly host our classes throughout the year in all of the disciplines.  First you need to decide which activity you would like to try and qualify in, and then go to the activity and look at the list of qualifying shows.  If you would like a list of training clubs to get some practice in first, please call 0870 606 6750, ext. 212.

What do I need to do once I have found a show?
Once you have found a class which you would like to compete in, you need to enter the class.  On the list of qualifying shows there are details of the secretary for each show.  Contact the secretary and ask for a schedule and an entry form.

What next?
Read the schedule carefully, this will tell you what is going on at the show including a list of classes and the rules and regulations.  Once you have found a class that you are eligible to enter complete the entry form and return to the secretary.  Once the entries have closed you will receive further information about what to do on the day from the individual show.

What happens if I qualify at the show?
If you are lucky enough to qualify the show will send in the results to the YKC office who will then invite you to take part at Crufts, at the end of the year – congratulations!
