The Young Kennel Club is about helping young dog lovers learn new skills, build confidence and make new friends.  We welcome young dog fans between 6-24 years, with sections for Kids, Teens and Seniors. Anyone from children to young adults can join in the fun, with or without a dog.

Welsh Kennel Club Activity Weekend Schedule & Entry Forms

The Welsh Kennel Club Activity Weekend schedule & entry forms are now available to download. The weekend will be taking place on 16th-18th August 2013, alongside the Welsh Kennel Club Championship Show.

All members have a fab time training their dogs in our allocated YKC area and if you feel confident competing with your dog then make sure you enter one of the Crufts qualifiers on offer.

Success In Stoneleigh At The Young Kennel Club Spring Weekend

More than 100 young dog lovers came together at Stoneleigh Park this weekend for the first ever Young Kennel Club Spring Weekend event.
Young people and their dogs from around the country came to the Kennel Club Building at Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire to try out dog activities such as agility, flyball, obedience and handling. It was the first time the Young Kennel Club (YKC) has held an activity weekend for both members and non members alike and it was a huge success.

Young Kennel Club Groomer Of The Year Qualifier In Scotland

A qualifying heat for the popular Young Kennel Club (YKC) Groomer of the Year competition will be held at the Scottish Kennel Club Championship Show on Saturday 18th May, with places in the final at the world’s biggest dog show up for grabs.

The Scottish Kennel Club Championship Show takes place at the Royal Highland Showground in Ingliston and so is perfectly placed for Young Kennel Club members based in the North of England and Scotland. Qualifiers from the heat will go on to compete at the final at Crufts 2014 at the Birmingham NEC.

YKC Launches Contest To Find Theme For Artist Of The Year Competition

The Young Kennel Club (YKC) is giving its members the opportunity to come up with the theme for this year’s YKC Artist of the Year Competition.     
YKC members have until Friday May 31st to submit a theme to the YKC, based around dogs. The member whose theme is selected will receive a fantastic YKC goody bag and will be invited onto the YKC stand at Crufts next March, to see their theme interpreted by budding young artists.

Young Kennel Club Agility Dog Of The Year Heat Moves To Derbyshire

Derbyshire Dog Agility Club will be hosting a Young Kennel Club (YKC) Agility Dog of the Year qualifying heat at its show this July.
Available exclusively to Young Kennel Club members, the YKC Agility Dog of the Year competition is the biggest event in the agility calendar for young dog lovers. Heats take place around the country as members compete to qualify for a place in the final of the competition which is held at the world’s greatest dog show, Crufts, in March.
