The Young Kennel Club is the club for kids who love dogs, helping children learn new skills, build confidence and make new friends. We welcome ANYONE between the ages of 6 years right up to 24 years! So for JUST £15 you can get a year FULL of canine adventures when you join our club. Whether you own a pedigree, crossbreed or just LOVE dogs!

Handling Training Day - Saturday 13th June

Hosted by Helena Hutchings-Brooks and Lisa Moir, our new the training day is an opportunity for YKC members to train under excellent supervision and guidance. The programme for the day will include activities such as Ring Etiquette and Showmanship presentation, Skills assessment, Basic control and Pattern work, Presentation, Stance and teeth work, Advance (training) patterns and will end with a fun competition. Agility Training Event - 26th April 2015

Our brand new Agility Training Event is open to all Young Kennel Club members as well as spectators and will be hosted by two well decorated trainers, Nicola Wildman, Alan Wildman and for the first time we are pleased to have collaboration with Canine Physiotherapist, Gail Baker Dip ICAT, MCAM, RCH, going through a range of canine techniques including warm up, warm down and conditioning routines with members. Volunteer with the YKC at Crufts 2015

There are a number of reasons you might be interested in volunteering, the Young Kennel Club may be something you are passionate about and you’d like to offer help in return, you might want to encourage younger dog enthusiasts using your canine experience, expand your CV,  increase your confidence or even just gain new skills and create a new hobby for yourself. Whatever the reason, the Young Kennel Club promises you will be satisfied that your time and effort has been well spent! You can now volunteer to help out at Crufts 2015! Apply Here

Enter our slogan competition

There's still time to enter our slogan competition! The #YKC is 30 years in 2015 and as part of our celebrations we have set up a competition for a celebratory slogan! Entries can be along the lines of what we do, what we are about, or just a celebration of #30years! As well as seeing your idea on all our marketing materials in our anniversary year you will also win a framed piece of artwork featuring the winning work!
